The beamline operates in dedicated and parasitic regime of the Dafne storage ring with circulating beam current of 1 A average. One of the two branches of the beamline is dedicated to FTIR imaging, spectroscopy and microspectroscopy on biological samples (tissues, cells) and to cultural heritage; the second one to solid state physics (high pressure, low temperature); we are recently developing a photochemical facility combining the IR beam with the UV synchrotron beam to explore in real time the UV effects on biological molecules and on the degradation of materials.
